THE TRIP

A nice bike ride in forest and terrain that can be combined with several options.

This stretch behind Rånåkollen has been adapted for cycling in recent years. From Rånå you follow the road to the end and enter the gravel road. The journey runs along Asbjørnsåa and over Stormyra in relatively flat terrain. At Kårebu, it’s nice to rest in the gaphuken. Furthermore, it goes downhill until you come down to Brøstdalsvegen, about 1 km from E 136. You can choose to cycle into the beautiful Brøstdalen, along the river Ulvåa, to extend the trip.

You can also start from the center of Bjorli and cycle up to Rånå before starting this tour. If you want to make a round trip out of it, you can cycle from Brøstdalen along the E 136 back to Bjorli. Note! There is no pedestrian or cycle path here, and the road is occasionally heavily trafficked.

Now you can actually start from Brøstvegen at the county border to Møre and Romsdal and follow the connected cycle path through the whole of Lesja to Dombås in Dovre municipality.

THE TRIP

A nice, short and easy trip for the whole family, with lots of exciting things to explore for the very little ones.

The path follows a tractor road to Asbjørnsåa, where the path splits. The walk goes to the right, but if you want a slightly longer walk, you can turn left up along the river and up to the America stone . With this detour, the trip will be just over 4 km in total. Here you turn and go down again to the crossing and further down along the river. You cross Geitbrue and follow the edge of a field, then over St. Olavsberget to Kvernhusfossen. A little below the waterfall is a restored mill house. It’s nice to rest here. From here, the ladder continues up towards Rånåvegen and follows it to the car park again.

The mill house was moved here in 1913 from further up the river, at Rånåmoen. 1841 is carved into the gable of the house. The last time the mill was in use was probably during the Second World War.

The trail is easiest to walk against the direction of the sun, but has the easiest descent with the direction of the sun. Up at Kårebu, where the Brøstdalsløypa also enters, it’s nice to eat nista. There is a nook here with a fire pan, so bring some wood if you want to grill sausages. From here towards Rånå, the terrain is smooth and fine. For families with young children, it can be nice to start in Rånå and go with the sun to the gaphuken. From Rånå, it’s a fun drive back to Bjorli. Be careful when crossing Rånåvegen.

To the west rise the Tafjordfjella and Romsdalsfjella. In the north you look out over destination Bjorli, with Bjorlitoppen, Kollhøi and Kongelberget encircling the ski route and the cabins, before to the east you let your gaze linger over the vast Lesjaskog.

THE TRIP

An excellent ski slope to choose for the Sunday trip. The Einbul track runs in fine, slightly hilly terrain on the sunny side of the valley, between Bjorli and Lesjaskog. It winds quite high under Kongelberget and is mostly sheltered by forest, but can be somewhat exposed to wind at the highest points of the route. The recommended direction is to go counter-clockwise.

Where the track faces farthest east, at Søreinbuåa, there is a gap where you can take a break. Here you will find information about a digital guestbook that you can use to register your trip here. You can choose to start the trip from Bjorli or Sør-Einbugardane. There is also a gap hook by the ski slope at Sør-Einbugardane.

See loyper.net/#bjorli for info on all ski slopes at Bjorli.

ACCESS

Three possibilities. At Bjorli, take the E 136 in the roundabout and enter Bjorlivegen. Turn right into Skriuvegen after the shop. Follow this road a good distance up the cabin field. At a crossroads: 1) Turn left into Liarbergvegen, past Bjorli låve, continue to follow Liarbergvegen. At the junction with Sjenstadbergen, keep left and P is at the end of the road in the second exit on the left. 2) Turn sharply to the right, continue up Skriuvegen and on to Kongelbergvegen, many bends, keep the main road. In a left turn, there is P for four or five cars. The single track is signposted from the start at P here. 3) Parking at Sør-Einbu and Øyom event.

THE TRIP

Kongelberget has become a new favorite trip for many at Bjorli. It is easily accessible, great for the whole family and many of those who live in cabins here have the mountain so to speak in their own backyard. From Kongelberget you can look out over the whole of Bjorli, into the mountain and east towards Lesjaskogsvatnet.

Work will be done locally to get this path marked and signposted. Check the tour app Outtt for GPS tracks to follow to Kongelberget. There are primarily two leases that are used. From the parking lot in Kongelberget cabin field you can go up to the south of the mountain, or via the foothills of Vetlfjellet, towards Nedre Liarberget and onto the trail that goes up from the parking lot in Liarbergvegen. From here you can cross two small streams, follow the slope up to Nedre Liarberget, keep your back up and turn up towards Kongelberget to avoid the steep front of the mountain.
